About Me

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am also a Level 3 Certified Internal Family Systems Therapist and IFS-I Approved Clinical Consultant

Training

My initial training was an integrative approach, providing me with a strong foundation in various theoretical models and the ability to tailor approaches to each individual. With a growing awareness in the field of how trauma impacts life, I continued to develop my knowledge of theories that would effectively help clients to heal. This journey led me to train in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

IFS theory is based on the idea that each of us has a core ‘Self’ that is naturally compassionate, calm, and curious. Alongside this, we have various ‘Parts’ of our personality that take on different roles to help us navigate life. When we experience threat or distress, these Parts may become extreme in their roles. As an IFS therapist, my role is to guide you in developing a deeper relationship between your Self and your Parts, fostering understanding and appreciation. This process allows your Parts to heal and return to their intended role as valuable inner resources.

More recently, I explored IFS in depth as part of my Master’s degree in Psychotherapy. My research covered topics such as implicit bias, therapist self-disclosure, and therapist’s Parts—all with the goal of understanding how therapists can hold more Self-energy to enhance their effectiveness in working with clients.
